About Natural Wood

*Please Read*
Our products are made from solid natural wood. All solid wood ages in color over time. Particularly cherry wood will first look a light pinkish-brown tone and will age to a deep reddish-brown. This is not a defect in the wood and is, in fact, part of its natural beauty. As such, we cannot accept returns or cancellations due to variations in natural wood tones. Read more about wood aging in our blog here: http://bit.ly/UrbanNaturalWood

We have wood samples available for purchase here.

Maple Corner Woodworks uses a base Danish oil finish that is non-toxic and contains zero VOCs (volatile organic compounds), based on the carriage oils of the 1800s. It is a linseed oil-based finish. They augment higher wear surfaces with polyurethane oil that cures completely before leaving their workshop. We have worked with many customers who have chemical sensitivities. They have found Maple Corner Woodworks' furniture and finish to be compatible with their specific environmental needs.

Caring for your Maple Corners Woodworks furniture:
Wood is a live medium. As such, it responds unfavorably to home environments with high and low humidity. Like our skin, wood appreciates oil to restore its natural balance with wear and touch and room conditions. We recommend oiling your furniture with a high quality furniture oil once a year in the beginning and less often over time. You will notice that oiling will hydrate your furniture and restore the wood's natural beauty of color and grain, while deepening the patina that occurs with age. We suggest using Sunnyside Linseed Oil (raw/unboiled).

Standard Lead Time: 14-16 Weeks
